Можливо є багато таких людей як чоловік агресивної провокаторки, яка втрутилася у французько-українську маніфестацію перед кінотеатром Каторза 27 березня 2022. Сьогодні вранці він написав мені і вимагав видалити фото його дружини з альбома маніфестації. На своїй сторінці у Фейсбук ця людина відтворює елементи кремлівського дискурса, водночас поставивши банер національних кольорів України « I Stand with Ukraine »(Я підтримую Україну).

Ніби й не було цих восьми років, щоб знову починалися такі маніпуляції та шантаж
Їх налічується декілька в « Співпраці заради миру », різнорідному конгломераті ассоціацій, політичних партій та профспілок, який наступної суботи виходить на маніфестацію в підтримку України. Проте жодна політична партія і асоціація, які там представлені, не висловилася проти поставок « Містралів » у 2014-2015 рр., за одним винятком – Яннік Жадо з партії Європа Екологія Зелені (EELV); члени цієї партії, що входять до Міської ради міста Сен-Назер були єдиними, хто висловилися проти потворних загарбників. Нагадаємо, що всі інші в кращому випадку не висловлювали своєї позиції, якщо не відверто підтримували Путіна до лютого 2022 року. Чи дійсно це зміна позиції? Дозвольте мені в цьому засумніватися. Чи це лише пристосуванство? Я в цьому не певен. В реальності все може буте гірше.

Наприклад диригент « Співпраці заради миру »Франсуа Прено, колишній очільник профспілки ЗКП (Загальна конфедерація праці, CGT), двічі просив мене не публікувати нашу петицію. До того ж, він ходив до Французько-української асоціації Тризуб і вимагав від них не протестувати перед кінотеатром Каторза. Щоразу він відверто погрожував виставити наш комітет та асосіацію Тризуб екстремістами, через скасування Російського Фестивалю « Від Львова до Уралу », якщо ми не скоримося. Тепер цей епітет став часто вживаним. Ніби й не було цих восьми років, щоб знову починалися такі маніпуляції та шантаж. Неначе ми не навчилися спротиву та протистоянню кремлівській пропаганді в її різних формах, прямо чи опосередковано, або й у вигляді « фонового шуму » та безпідставних чуток, що наївно повторюються.

Беззаперечно підтримаємо українських митців, які вимагають право на існування їхньої культури цілком окремо від того, що звично називають « російська культура ».

В цій війні досить легко визначити, хто є агресором, а хто – жертвою. Дещо складніше, але все ж можливо, якщо додати певних зусиль, переконатися, що підґрунтям для цього вторгнення є ствердження, що Україна і Росія – єдине ціле. Тому зрозуміло, що представники української культури хочуть покласти край цьому імперському й колоніальному уявленню, яке виправдовує агресію, в тому числі тими, хто стверджує, що вони є проти. Дослухаймося до українського народу, який жорстоко страждає. Не скочуймося в жертовне перекручування понять. Беззаперечно підтримаймо українських митців, які вимагають право на існування їхньої культури цілком окремо від того, що звично називають « російська культура », та поза контролем агентів впливу, якими б не були їхні наміри.
Колись це буде ганьбою – їхньою, та тих, хто їх підтримав. Але не нашою.
Щоб вийти з рамок цього вбивчого кількастолітнього уявлення, що набуло свого пароксизму 24 лютого 2022 року, українська культура не може й не має співіснувати з російською в одному просторі й під час одного заходу. Це елементарна профілактика. Наш комітет закликає лише до цього. Прочитайте уважно нашу петицію. Ми ніколи не говорили про бойкот російських фільмів, як хибно стверджує Маша Мілліар(Univerciné), кінотеатр Каторза та їхні друзі, які дотримуються концепції російської « м’якої сили ». Якщо вони дійсно хочуть продовжувати їхню колаборацію та показувати фільми, вироблені в країні, яка чинить найгірше насильство в Європі з часів Другої Світової війни – це їхній вибір. Колись це буде ганьбою – їхньою, та тих, хто їх підтримав. Але не нашою.

Українська культура є культурою миру, спротиву й гідності, вона несе в собі європейські цивілізаційні цінності і могла б бути джерелом натхнення для нас, французів. Російська культура, навіть серед найбільш поміркованих (було б бажано аби ті, хто про неї говорять, справді знали б цю країну), є культурою імперською, колоніальною та войовничою, що вдається до ревізіонізму історії, відмовляючи Україні в самому її праві на існування.
Нам не слід змішувати та ототожнювати ці дві цілком різні культури.

I would like to agree with the words of Mr. Aymeric Seassau, Nantes deputy mayor in charge of Culture, who, as reported by Ouest France newspaper (228/03/2022 at 20:43) says: “In Nantes, there can be no question of banning or boycotting any culture whatsoever!… The freedom of circulation of works and ideas is not negotiable.»
Multiple initiatives – from the Ukrainian State Film Agency to Ukrainian NGO’s proposed to the Mayor and to the Katorza film theatre to hold the festival of recent Ukrainian Films. There was no answer to these proposals. The boycott.
I, the Ukrainian producer of DONBAS, on behalf of the Ukrainian team of the movie was demanding the organizers of the Russian festival « Univercine: from Lviv to Ourals » exclude our Ukrainian film from the program. However, the organizers tried to boycott our request and program the film at the festival until it was canceled.
Current Nantes local leader of the « Coordination for peace »François Preneau twice demanded the writers of the petition against the « Lviv to Urals » festival not to publish it. He also visited the Franco-Ukrainian Association Tryzub demanding that it will not perform manifestation in front of the Katorza movie theater.
I would not describe our Nantes experience as “freedom of circulation of works and ideas”.
My country now is going through a war with Russia. I’m writing these words and hearing the bombs’ explosions in Kyiv. For Ukrainians, there is no space for compromise between “exist” and “not “exist”. Pause in promotion of Russian culture (until Russian troops are in Ukrainian land) was supported by the European Film Academy, a number of festivals, and filmmakers from all over the world. If all kinds of sanctions together (including cultural ones) would be implemented 8 years ago, Ukraine would not face horrible war now.
I’m attaching the picture of the billboard with the advertisement for the great Ukrainian film STOP-ZEMLIA by Kateryna Gornostai (Crystal Bears in Berlinale’s Generation), taken in Kyiv street two weeks ago, after the missile attack of the Russian army.
“Because we trust the intelligence of spectators and because we need cinema, films, and theaters to understand the world” I hope Nantes authorities and cultural workers would hear Ukrainian voices and stop boycotting Ukrainian initiatives and Ukrainian culture.

There are likely many people similar to the husband of the aggressive provocateur who raged during the Franco-Ukrainian demonstration in front of the Katorza movie theater on March 27, 2022. He wrote to me this morning asking me to remove the photos of his wife, from the album of the demonstration. On his Facebook page, this man takes up the language elements of the Kremlin while displaying a banner in the colors of Ukraine stating: “I stand with Ukraine”.

As if we did not have eight years to know this style of blackmail and manipulation.
There must be a number of them in the “Coordination for Peace” – a heterogeneous conglomeration of associations, political parties and unions – which is demonstrating next Saturday, again in the name of Ukraine. However, none of the parties or associations represented there opposed, in 2014-2015, the delivery of the Mistral Vessels, with the notable exception of Yannick Jadot from « Europe Ecology – The Greens » party, whose members of the Municipal Council of St Nazaire (town of Mistrals shipyard) were the only ones to have taken a stand against these invasion monsters. Remember that, at best, the others did not speak out, when they did not explicitly support Putin until February 2022. Is this a real U-turn? Allow me to doubt it. Is it just opportunism? I’m not sure. It could be worse than that.

Thus, the leader of the « Coordination for Peace », François Preneau, former CGT (communist) union leader, asked me twice not to publish our petition. He also went to theFranco-Ukrainian Association Tryzub to ask them, too, to not demonstrate in front of the Katorza movie theater. On these three occurrences, he explicitly threatened to make our committee, for the cancellation of the Russian Festival “From Lviv to the Urals”, and the Tryzub Association looking like extremists if we did not comply with his demand. The formula is now widely used. As if did not have eight years to experience this style of blackmail and manipulation. As if we did not learn to resist and counter the Kremlin’s propaganda in its various forms, whether pushed directly, handled by proxies or being part of the « background noise » and rumours constructed from scratch or naively taken up.

Let’s unconditionnaly support Ukrainian artists, who claim the right to the existence of their culture, in complete rupture with what is commonly called “Russian culture”.
We look so much alike
In this war, it is however simple, for once, to identify who is the aggressor and who is the attacked. It is a little more complicated, but it is still possible, for those who want to make this effort, to verify that the substrate for this invasion is the assertion that Ukraine and Russia would be just one. Therefore, we understand that the representatives of Ukrainian culture want to put an end to this imperialist and colonialist doxa justifying aggression, including on the part of those who say they oppose it. Let us take the time to listen to the Ukrainian people who suffer in their flesh. Let’s not indulge in a victim inversion. Let us unconditionally support Ukrainian artists, who are claiming the right to the existence of their culture, in a complete rupture with what is commonly called « Russian culture » and out of the grasp of its agents of influence, whatever their intentions may be.
Later, it will be their shame and the one of those who supported them. But it won’t be ours.
In order to get out of a deadly multi-centennial scheme, brought to its paroxysm since February 24, 2022, Ukrainian culture cannot and must not coexist with Russian culture, in the same space and during the same event. It is a basic prophylaxis. Our committee was calling just for that. Take a good look at our petition. At no time have we spoken about a general boycott of Russian films as Macha Milliard, Univerciné, the Kartoza movie theater and their friends for Russian « soft power » falsely present. If they want to continue to collaborate and broadcast the films of a country that is committing the worst violence ever perpetrated in Europe since the Second World War, that remains their choice. Later, it will be their shame and the one of those who supports them. But it won’t be ours.

Ukrainian culture is a culture of peace, resistance and dignity, rooted in civilized and European values from which we, the French, could fruitfully be rejuvenated. Russian culture, including among the most « moderate » (sometimes without even knowing this country), is an imperialist, colonialist and warmongering culture with a revisionist writing of history while practicing the negation of the very existence of Ukraine.
It is up to us not to confuse or merge these two cultures that everything opposes.

Il y a vraisemblablement beaucoup de personnes dans le style du mari de la provocatrice agresseuse ayant sévi lors de la manifestation franco-ukrainienne devant le cinéma Katorza, le 27 mars 2022. Il m’a écrit ce matin pour me demander de retirer les photos de sa femme, de l’album de la manifestation. Sur sa page Facebook, cet homme reprend les éléments de langage du Kremlin tout en affichant un bandeau aux couleurs de l’Ukraine affirmant : « I stand with Ukraine ».

Comme si, nous n’avions pas eu huit ans pour connaître ce style de chantage et de manipulation
Il doit s’en trouver un certain nombre dans la « Coordination pour la paix » – conglomérat hétéroclite d’associations, de partis politiques et de syndicats – qui manifeste, samedi prochain, là aussi au nom de l’Ukraine. Pourtant aucun des partis ou des associations qui y sont représentés ne s’est opposé, en 2014-2015, à la livraison des Mistral, à la notable exception de Yannick Jadot d’Europe Ecologie Les Verts (EELV), dont les membres du Conseil municipal de St Nazaire ont été les seuls à avoir pris position contre ces monstres d’invasion. Rappelons que, au mieux, les autres ne se sont pas prononcés, quand ils ne soutenaient pas explicitement Poutine jusqu’en février 2022. Est-ce un vrai revirement ? Permettez-moi d’en douter. Est-ce seulement de l’opportunisme ? Je n’en suis pas certain. La réalité pourrait être pire que cela.

Ainsi le chef d’orchestre de « La coordination pour la paix », François Preneau, ex dirigeant syndical CGT, m’a demandé à deux reprises de ne pas publier notre pétition. Il s’est, de plus, rendu chez l’Association Franco-Ukrainienne Tryzub pour leur demander, aussi, de ne pas manifester devant le cinéma Katorza. À ces trois occasions, il a explicitement menacé de faire passer notre comité, pour l’annulation du Festival Russe « De Lviv à l’Oural », et l’association Tryzub pour des extrémistes si nous n’obtempérions pas. La formule est maintenant largement reprise. Comme si, nous n’avions pas eu huit ans pour connaître ce style de chantages et de manipulations. Comme si nous n’avions pas appris à résister et à contrer la propagande du Kremlin sous ses diverses formes, qu’elle soit directe, le fait de supplétifs ou d‘un « bruit de fond » et rumeurs construits de toute pièce et repris naïvement.

Soutenons sans réserve les artistes ukrainiens, qui revendiquent le droit à l’existence de leur culture, en rupture complète avec ce qu’il est convenu d’appeler la « culture russe ».
Dans cette guerre, il est pourtant simple, pour une fois, d’identifier qui est l’agresseur et qui est l’agressé. Il est un peu plus compliqué, mais cela reste possible, pour qui veut s’en donner le mal, de vérifier que le substrat à cette invasion est l’affirmation comme quoi l’Ukraine et la Russie ne feraient qu’un. Dès lors, on comprend que les représentants de la culture ukrainienne veulent mettre fin à cette doxa impérialiste et colonialiste justifiant l’agression, y compris de la part de ceux qui disent s’y opposer. Donnons-nous le mal d’écouter le peuple ukrainien qui souffre dans sa chair. Ne nous livrons pas à une inversion victimaire. Soutenons sans réserve les artistes ukrainiens, qui revendiquent le droit à l’existence de leur culture, en rupture complète avec ce qu’il est convenu d’appeler la « culture russe » et hors de la poigne de ses agents d’influence, quelles que puissent être leurs intentions.
Plus tard, ce sera leur honte et celle de ceux qui les ont soutenus. Mais ce ne sera pas la nôtre.
Afin de sortir d’un schéma mortifère pluri-centenaire, porté à son paroxysme depuis le 24 février 2022, la culture ukrainienne ne peut pas et ne doit pas coexister avec la culture russe, dans un même espace et lors d’un même événement. C’est une prophylaxie élémentaire. Notre comité n’appelait qu’à cela. Regardez bien notre pétition. A aucun moment, nous n’avons parlé de boycott des films russes comme le présentent faussement Macha Milliard, Univerciné, le cinéma Kartoza et leurs amis du « soft-power » russe. S’ils veulent continuer à collaborer et à diffuser les films d’un pays qui commet les pires violences jamais perpétrées en Europe depuis la Seconde Guerre mondiale, cela reste leur choix. Plus tard, ce sera leur honte et celle de ceux qui les ont soutenus. Mais ce ne sera pas la nôtre.

La culture ukrainienne est une culture de paix, de résistance et de dignité, imprégnée des valeurs civilisées et européennes à laquelle nous gagnerions, nous Français, à nous ressourcer. La culture russe, même chez les plus « modérés » (encore faudrait-il que ceux qui en parlent connaissent ce pays), est une culture impérialiste, colonialiste et guerrière ayant une écriture révisionniste de l’histoire tout en pratiquant la négation de l’existence même de l’Ukraine.
À nous de ne pas confondre ou assimiler ces deux cultures que tout oppose.

My country now is going through a war with Russia. I’m writing these words and hearing the bombs’ explosions in Kyiv. For Ukrainians, there is no space for compromise between “exist” and “not “exist”. Pause in promotion of Russian culture (until Russian troops are in Ukrainian land) was supported by the European Film Academy, a number of festivals, and filmmakers from all over the world. If all kinds of sanctions together (including cultural ones) would be implemented 8 years ago, Ukraine would not face horrible war now.

En dépit des crimes de guerre russes commis en Ukraine et tandis que le martyr de la population de Marioupol soulève une indignation mondiale, nous apprenons que le festival du cinéma russe, « UniverCiné », devant se tenir à Nantes, au Katorza, du 31 mars au 3 avril 2022 est maintenu malgré tout. A la vue du titre de l’événement, «Entre Lviv et l’Oural», nous sommes sans voix. Un tel intitulé a-t-il été choisi lorsque Moscou espérait conquérir l’Ukraine en deux ou trois jours de « blitzkrieg »? Est-il impossible de comprendre comment un tel titre serait perçu et compris par les Ukrainiens ? Et que dire de l’affiche sur laquelle figure, comme un sticker promotionnel, un rond noir montrant un sybillin “non à la guerre”, sans jamais nommer l’Ukraine, agressée? Nous ne pouvons pas uniquement dire “non à la guerre”. Nous devons apporter un soutien sans nuance à l’Ukraine qui se bat contre l’invasion russe.

Dans cette période de l’histoire, où un enfer d’acier, de poudre, de flammes, de ruines, d’agonies et de détresse humaine ravage la terre de Saint-Volodymyr, sous le hurlement permanent des sirènes et dans le fracas des explosions, il n’était pas possible de tenir cet événement, à Nantes, dans le format habituel de son prosélytisme pan-russe. Seuls deux choix étaient possibles :
annuler le festival, pour exprimer un vrai désaccord avec l’envahisseur et pour réellement prouver sa solidarité avec l’Ukraine, victime d’une agression sans équivalent sur le continent européen depuis la Seconde Guerre mondiale,
ne pas se présenter vaguement comme un « festival contre la guerre », mais s’ériger sans ambiguïté comme un événement qui soutient l’Ukraine, un festival du film ukrainien, impliquant véritablement les associations ukrainiennes.
Mais avec un aveuglement qui pourrait démentir la compassion proclamée, il a été choisi d’annexer un petit nombre de films ukrainiens au corpus principal de films russes, et ceci sous un titre qui reprend le discours du dictateur du Kremlin sur «le même espace culturel» (faux) et sur «le même peuple» (encore plus faux).
Après de telles prémices, comment peut-on se présenter comme opposé à la guerre russe en Ukraine, dans un éditorial que l’on croirait écrit par Mikhaïl Souslov ? Il est annoncé que le festival, offrira un espace de « réflexion et d’échange ». Pourtant, il n’y a aucun doute sur qui est l’agresseur et qui est l’agressé. De plus, les Ukrainiens et Ukrainiennes de Nantes, ainsi que leurs soutiens locaux, n’ont pas le loisir de venir contrer une propagande maintes fois démentie depuis 2014, alors que l’urgence est au sauvetage et à l’accueil du flot de réfugiés ayant pu échapper aux bombes ainsi qu’à l’organisation de convois humanitaires, eux-mêmes cibles de tirs russes.
Au nom des enfants ukrainiens qui meurent quotidiennement sous les tirs russes, au nom des mères ukrainiennes qui accouchent dans des abris sous-terrains, au nom des femmes violentées par d’ivres et pillards soudards, au nom d’un pays dont les plus brillants des fils sont sacrifiés à la sauvagerie des mercenaires de Wagner, des hordes kadyrovistes ou des conscrits russes désemparés, au nom des 10 millions de réfugiés/déplacés, au nom des valeurs de la France dont les organisatrices sont – aussi citoyennes – nous exigeons que le programme et son intitulé soient radicalement changés ou, plus raisonnablement, qu’ils soient annulés.
Viendra le jour où l’Ukraine retrouvera son intégrité territoriale et maritime, rétablira la paix sur son espace national, pleurera ses morts, reconstruira ses villes, ses villages, ses entreprises, ses routes et ses ports. Des années plus tard, on pourra, éventuellement, organiser un espace de « réflexion et d’échanges », sous réserve que, comme l’Allemagne de 1945, la Moscovie soit sortie de la barbarie, ait reconnu ses fautes, ait procédé à de justes dédommagements et mis en place un régime politique civilisé ainsi que respectueux de ses voisins. Mais à l’heure du drame ukrainien, à l’heure où la majorité de la population russe soutient son président et cautionne, voire fête son aventure mortifère, ce n’est pas le moment.

Незважаючи на російські воєнні злочини в Україні та в той час, коли мученицькі страждання мешканців Маріуполя викликають обурення всього світу, ми дізнаємося, що фестиваль російського кіно « UniverCiné », що мав відбутися в Нанті, в кінотеатрі Каторза, з 31 березня по 3 квітня 2022 року, все ще запланований, незважаючи ні на що. Від назви « Від Львова до Уралу » нам мало не відняло мову. І ця назва вибрана тоді, коли Москва сподівалася завоювати Україну за два-три дні « бліцкригу »? Невже не ясно, як таку назву сприймуть та зрозуміють українці? І що вже казати про афішу, на якій, як рекламний стікер, розміщене чорне коло з незрозумілим « ні війні », без жодної згадки про Україну, що потерпає від агресії. Недостатньо сказати « ні війні ». Ми мусимо надати беззаперечну підтримку Україні, яка бореться проти російської навали.

В цей історичний період, коли пекло зі сталі, пороха, полум’я, руїн, агонії та людських страждань спустошує землю Володимира Святого, під постійні завивання сирен та гуркіт вибухів, влаштовувати такий фестиваль в Нанті, в його звичному всеросійському пропагандистському форматі, просто неприпустимо. Можливі були лише два варіанти:
скасувати фестиваль, аби висловити категоричну незгоду із загарбником і щоб дійсно довести свою солідарність з Україною, жертвою аргесії яка не має собі рівних на європейському континенті з часів Другої світової війни,
не позиціонувати себе як « фестиваль проти війни », а відверто заняти позицію в підтримку України і провести фестиваль українського кіно, дійсно залучивши до нього українські асоціації.
Але в засліпленні, що могло б спростувати заявлене співчуття, було вирішено аннексувати невелику кількість українських фільмів до переважної кількості російських фільмів, і все це під назвою, що відтворює дискурс кремлівського диктатора про « спільний культурний простір » (неправда) та про « один народ » (ще більша неправда).
Після такого початку, як можна заявляти про свій протест проти війни Росії з Україною в презентації що нагадує передовицю написану Міхаїлом Сусловим? Заявлено, що фестиваль надасть майданчик для « рефлексії та обміну думками ». Менше з тим, немає жодного сумніву щодо того, хто є агресором, а хто – жертвою. Більше того, Українки й Українці міста Нант, а також ті, хто їх підтримують, не мають вільного часу щоб протистояти пропаганді, яка з 2014 року вже стільки разів була спростована, тоді як нагальна задача – врятувати й прийняти потік біженців які змогли врятуватися від бомб, а також організувати рух гуманітарних конвоїв що пересуваються під російськими обстрілами. В ім’я українських дітей, які щодня вмирають під російськими обстрілами, в ім’я українських матерів, які народжують дітей в бомбосховищах, в ім’я жінок які потерпають від насилля п’яної та грабуючої солдатні, в ім’я країни, найкращі сини якої стають жертвами звірств вагнерівських найманців, кадирівських орд та неспроможних російських строчників, в ім’я 10 мільонів біженців та переміщених осіб, в ім’я цінностей Франції, громадянками якої також є організаторки фестивалю – ми вимагаємо, щоб програма та назва були докорінно змінені або, що було б більш доречно, щоб вони були скасовані.
Настане день, коли Україна відновить свою териториальну та морську цілісність, встановить мир на своєму національному просторі, оплаче своїх загиблих, відбудує свої міста, села, підприємства, дороги й порти. Можливо за кілька років можна буде організувати майданчик для « рефлексії та обміну думками », за умови що, так само, як Німеччина в 1945 році, Московія облише своє варварство, визнає свої помилки, відшкодує збитки та встановить цивілізований політичний режим, який поважатиме своїх сусідів. Але не в той час, коли Україна переживає трагедію, коли більшість російського населення підтримує свого президента і навіть вітає його вбивчу авантюру.

Despite the Russian war crimes committed in Ukraine, while the martyrdom of the Russian-speaking population of Mariupol ,under the unspeakable cruelty of those who proclaim themselves liberators, triggered worldwide indignation, we are appalled to learn that your Russian film festival , UniversCiné, will still take place in Nantes, at Katorza, from March 31 to April 3, 2022 in spite of all this . Worse, reading the name of the event, we are speechless. “Between Lviv and the Urals” it says. Was such a title chosen when Moscow hoped to conquer Ukraine with their « blitzkrieg »? Do you think you have already annexed, at least culturally, all Ukrainian territory to Putin’s Russia? What gives you this right? Don’t you understand how such a title would be perceived and understood by Ukrainians? Do you want to add insult to injury? Aren’t they suffering enough?
How dare you, in the purest style of an editorial worthy of the great hours of Mikhail Suslov, introduce yourselves as opposed to the war in Ukraine? Is it, on the contrary ,the lack of progress of this so called « special operation » and the ruin of the « Rusky mir », a murderous colonizing utopia and a culture of death, that you mourn? Or, may be,in a seamy attempt, are you trying to take advantage of the fact that Ukraine’s misfortune makes this country more « fashionable » than the old tired cliché of « Russian soul »?

Alongside with this hell of steel, gunpowder, flames, smouldering ruins, agonies and human distress, destroying the land of Saint-Volodymyr, under the constant wail of sirens and the deafening sound of explosions, it was not apt to continue the « business as usual » as the the heirs of Ivan Kalita and Ivan Grozny, the cutthroats of Tver and Novgorod, in the usual way of your proselytism. You had two choices:
cancel the festival, to show your disagreement with the invader and to really prove yoursolidarity with Ukraine, victim of an aggression without equal on the European continent since the Second World War,
not depicting it vaguely as a « festival against the war », but clearly and whithout any amibiguity name it as an event that supports Ukraine, a Ukrainian film festival, genuinely involving Ukrainian associations.
But with a wilful blindness that shows the emptiness of your so called compassion, you have chosen to link Ukrainian films to Russian films, and this under a title that puts the speech of the dictator of the Kremlin on « the same cultural level » (wrong) and on “the same people” ( wrong again, and even more so here).
Probably in order to better deceive the gullibles or those unfamiliar with the mysteries of the Soviet-Putinian doxa, you state that your festival will offer a space for « discussion and exchange ». How dare you play this Machiavellian farce? As if there was still a doubt about who is the attacker and who is attacked. As if the Ukrainians of Nantes, as well as theirlocal supporters, still had the opportunity to come and counter a propaganda that has been denied many times since 2014, while the urgency is to rescue and welcome the flood of refugees who have escaped the bombs. As if those whom you call to « ponder and debate » did not have as a priority the organization of humanitarian convoys, themselves targets ,as if it were admissible to invite the victim of a rape and her assailant to the discussion table, in an attempt to prove that the length of the skirt of the victim could have triggered the second and that the woman or the immolated teenager had an orgasm. Do you find this analogy grotesque and indecent? Well yes it is, as much as your festival title and content.
In the name of Ukrainian children who die under Russian fire every day, in the name of Ukrainian mothers who give birth in underground shelters, in the name of women abused by drunken soldiers and looters, in the name of Taras Shevchenko whose most brilliant sons are sacrificed in result of the cruelty and brutality of Wagner’s mercenaries, the Kadyrovist hordes or distraught Russian conscripts, in the name of the 10 million refugees/displaced people, in the name of the values of France of which you are also citizens, we ask you to change radically your program and its title or – and that would be the most sensible approach – that you cancel it. Because now is definitely not the time.The day will come when Ukraine will regain its territorial and maritime integrity, restore peace to its national space, mourn its dead, rebuild its cities, villages, factories, roads and ports. And many years later, we could eventually organize a space for « debate, thoughts and exchanges », providing that, like Germany in 1945, Muscovy has emerged from barbarism, admitted its faults, proceeded to fair compensation and established a civilized political regime that respects its neighbours. But at a time of the Ukrainian catastrophe , at a time when the majority of the Russian population supports its president and condones and even celebrates his murderous crusade , now is not the time. Truly.

Multiple initiatives – from the Ukrainian State Film Agency to Ukrainian NGO’s proposed to the Mayor and to the Katorza film theatre to hold the festival of recent Ukrainian Films. There was no answer to these proposals. The boycott.

Aux organisateurs du festival du cinéma UniverCiné « Entre Lviv et L’Oural »
Le conseil municipal de la ville de Lviv condamne fermement les tentatives d’organisation du festival du cinéma russe intitulé « Entre Lviv et l’Oural » à Nantes.
Ni géographiquement, ni culturellement, ni par ses valeurs Lviv n’a jamais été liée avec ce qui est sous-entendu sous « Oural » dans ce contexte.
La décision d’organiser une telle manifestation au moment d’une violation sans précédent de toutes les normes du droit international par l’agresseur russe est au moins illogique, biaisée et inhumaine.
Si par ces temps difficiles vous voulez vraiment soutenir la paix et dire « non à la guerre », nous vous proposons de manifester votre solidarité et votre soutien à travers l’organisation d’un festival du cinéma ukrainien à Nantes.

For two days, I hear more and more about friends, I mean friends in the real life, not Facebook contacts. They are sheltering their wife and their kids in other part of the country, but also abroad including France.
These friends say goodbye to their beloved ones. They stay on their ground. They are mobilized or they decide by themselves to join the Ukrainian army, left alone to defend its land and its values against the second most powerful armed force of the world.
I do wonder how many of these men will be dead in a few months or in a few days. I do wonder about how many wonderful children will be orphans, how many admirable ladies will become widows, because of the madness of one single criminal.
I do not tolerate any kind of relativism in this tragedy. There is no perfect people on this earth. It is always possible to extract a few individuals to blame an entire nation or to « justify » a general massacre.
In such a confusion, purposely designed, even by politicians of my country, France, you have to make a choice. Just look who is the aggressor and who is the assaulted. Then, the picture is clear. Stand with the assaulted. Stand with Ukraine.

Because of my photographic and publication works about Pamirs, Ramla Aakhtar, aka Rmala Aalam, a Faisalabad/Karachi woman, publicly and repeatedly accuses me of being a NATO agent in charge of promoting unrest and separatism in the mountainous Northern Pakistan. These unsupported allegations put my life at risk in a country as explosive as Pakistan, deeply impregnated with islamo-nationalism, where rallies have recently been held with calls to nuke France and to kill its citizens. The following article presents the tweets sent to the authorities of Gilgit-Baltistan for asking them to stop the fake news about myself, which are shared by the above radicalised social media user currently living in Gilgit city.
Developing foreign tourism is a strategic orientation of Pakistani government for creating jobs & bringing revenues to local populations
They have been made in charge of Pakistan PR to the attention of western holiday makers. In Islamabad, these influencers were instrumented to boost an international attractive image of the country. It was a strong evidence of the government commitment to this foreign tourism strategy. However, such an impulse is facing resistance, when not deliberate #sabotage, as I will explain below.
Before Islamabad Summit, I visited Pakistan in summer 2018. I wrote numerous articles which have been appreciated by local communities and by their visitors.
Hatred for autochtonous population and xenophobia for western visitors causes resistances and sabotage initiatives against foreign tourism development.
Because of my publications I fell under the rage of the Pakistani radicalised cyberstalker Ramla Akhtar, aka Rmala Aalam, a Faisalabad/Karachi person who moved to #Gojal in 2013. Early 2020 she was expelled from #Hunza, because of her physical violences against elderlies from Gulmit, where she was running #BetterBonds, a sort of herbal shop selling illegal medicines against, for example, cancer & Covid.
Nowadays, Ramla Aakhtar says that she lives in Gilgit, from where she spreads her venom against isolated communities and against foreigners. She also pretends having a team composed of « her boys », a sort of #gang used, at least, for #harassment purposes.

In May 2019, Ms Ramla Akhtar tweeting under @BarefootRara & @BestInventoryFX, previously @GruaAbuseArkive & @BestInventoryPR, « discovered » my publications. She was infuriated by my Pakistan mountains promotion towards foreign visitors. She decided to punish me as being contrary to her endeavour of depriving mountains people from their livelihood coming from their external guests. Ramla Aakhtar challenged my peaceful description of local inhabitants while she presented mountain people as violent and non civilized tribes.

Moreover, Akhtar identified me as the privileged target of her crusade for cleansing#GilgitBalistan from its white visitors, she calls Nazis, Fascists, killers, imperialists, warmongers, etc.

To Gilgit-Baltistan authorities:
How can you agree with such a rabid #xenophobia when you want to attract international visitors?
How can you tolerate such a rough #colonialism from one of your citizen against your ethnic and religious minorities?
How can you accept one single person to be a threat to Pakistan unity by boosting, in remote and border areas, unrest between races, religions and populations composing the Pakistani Nation?
As far I am concerned, I am defamed, stalked, harassed and victim of calumnious denunciations from this malevolent person.
When did you warn your foreign visitors about the fact that after visiting Pakistan they will face years of #HateSpeech turned against them, their family, their friends & their professional activity?
This is dishonest because you, for sure, know these people, the ones like #RamlaAkhtar, who even takes pride of her connections with army and/or intelligence services, granting her #impunity.

But there is even worst. I recently contributed to the creation of the @PamirInstitute. #PamirInstitute is another powerful tool for promoting all the #Pamirs, including the Pakistani one.
Gilgit-Baltistan authorities, because of #PamirInstitute, your creature, your rabid radicalised citizen, Ms Ramla Akhtar is endless accusing me, #BernardGrua, of being a #NATO#AGENT. THIS IS NOT TOLERABLE ! Me, @BernardGrua I am extremely infuriated against a country which nurses such a demon.

Being called a #NatoAgent put MY LIFE AT RISK in a country like Pakistan, where terrorists, TTP and TLP extremists roam freely, where during recent rallies it was called to nuke France and to kill French citizens.
I don’t want any other people getting trapped like I have been. My bitter experience must be a warning for anyone who would like to travel in this Pakistani powder and venom keg.

An article I have written, on Medium, in March 2020 about how western vloggers misrepresent Pakistan is challenged by the Pakistani cyberstalker Ramla Akhtar, aka Rama Aalam, on Twitter. She says my publication would be a plagiarism. Actually, the text of my article and its documents are original ones resulting from my researches and from my personal writings. As far as the subject of the article is concerned, it is not an “idea” invented by Ramla Aakhtar claiming her own « property » on February 2020. It is a hot topic from years before. My article is a detailed contribution but it never pretended having created the concept under review. My concern, as a travel writer about Pakistan, was to bring my western vision and my experience about a deceiving propaganda organisation targetting foreigners. I also wanted to highlight the spoiling dimension of the system for Pakistani people producing media content.
