Russian ship ‘Shtandart’, call for signatures from organisations friendly to Ukraine

We invite all Ukrainian and Ukrainian-friendly organisations to join the No Shtandart in Europe collective by signing the letter that will be sent to Gabriel Attal, former prime minister and chairman of the France-Ukraine Friendship Group in the French National Assembly. In order to put an end to the circumvention of European sanctions, let us together demand that the Russian vessel Shtandart be banned from French territorial waters.

Our campaign against the violation of EU sanctions by the Russian ship Shtandart is justified by issues relating to national security and law. But for Ukrainians and for us, friends of Ukraine, it is first and foremost a battle against Russian imperialist culture or against deadly Russian propaganda. Which is perfectly equivalent.

Our goal is the same as that which motivated us when, together with Dennis Ivanov, the Ukrainian Film Academy, Serhiy Kiral and Andriy Sadovyi, we obtained the cancellation of the Russian film festival in Nantes, ‘From Lviv to the Urals’. https://bit.ly/cancel-univercine

The best example of this was when we had the Russian ship banned from Brest, during Europe’s biggest maritime festival for 2024, and had it replaced by the Cossack chaika Presvyata Pokrova, proudly flying the colours of Ukraine.
